While talking to a group of reporters on Tuesday afternoon, Derek Jeter suddenly realized each inquiry about the first-place Yankees could be summed up with one universal answer.
“People make such a big deal out of the home runs being hit [at the new Yankee Stadium], but our pitching staff’s been doing a pretty good job. So, once again, it all boils down to pitching.”
That leaves Wednesday’s game in the hands of veteran Andy Pettitte, who will toe the rubber opposite Rangers rookie Derek Holland.
